GenCon 2008

Event Report

On consignment from GenCon the Hub agreed to arrange for a plethora of guests to attend the very first event in Brisbane. To enthral the comic and gaming fans we invited Aussie Managa star Queenie Chan with the awesome news of her project with Dean Koontz, local favourite Stew McKenny with is new Star Wars books and poster art. Hottest new Aussie talent Wayne Nicols attended to sketch for the crowd, DC superstar Nicola Scott joined us from Sydney as did indie –hero Image “it” boy Jason Rand.

Entertaining the masses with Jedi training Master classes was Star Wars stunt co-ordinator and General Grievous Kyle Rowling. Mungo McKay star of the hit Undead joined us as did Stargate Atlantis favourite Doctors Zelenka and Beckett aka David McNykl and Paul McGillion. Voice actor extraordinaire from Dragonball Z fame Chris Sabat joined us and to round out the motley crew Firefly’s beloved Alan Tudyk flew in the for the four day extravaganza.

The awesome group of talent enthralled crowds with both educating and hilarious QandA’s, made lasting memories with the professional photo session, signed autographs till they could sign no more and for a lucky few participated in a VIP dinner that was a riot and closed down the bar.

The four days flew by quickly and The Hub was delighted at the fans response.
