Nana Visitor


Nana Visitor (born July 26, 1957) is an American actress, best known for playing Kira Nerys in the television series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (DS9) and Jean Ritter in the television series Wildfire.

Nana is the daughter of dancers, choreographer Robert Tucker and ballet teacher Nenette Charisse and niece of actress-dancer Cyd Charisse.

Visitor began her acting career in the 1970s on the Broadway stage in such productions as My One and Only. Her film debut (billed as Nana Tucker) came in the 1977 film, The Sentinel. On television, Visitor co-starred in the short-lived 1976 sitcom, Ivan the Terrible and from 1978 to 1982 had short-lived regular roles on three soap operas: Ryan's Hope, The Doctors, and One Life to Live.

In 1985 Visitor made an appearance in the TV series MacGyver, in the season one episode "Hellfire" as Laura Farren, and in the season two episode "DOA: MacGyver" as Carol Varnay. In 1988 she made a guest appearance on the TV series Night Court as a lost mental patient. That same year she made a guest appearance on the TV series In the Heat of the Night as the owner of the Sparta newspaper. Prior to obtaining the role of Kira on Deep Space 9, Visitor co-starred with Sandra Bullock in a short-lived sitcom Working Girl, which was based on the feature film of the same name, and co-starred in a failed television pilot for a series based upon the comic strip character, The Spirit. After DS9 ended, she had a recurring role as villain Dr. Elizabeth Renfro on the TV series Dark Angel and starred as Roxie Hart in the touring and Broadway companies of the musical Chicago to favorable reviews. Visitor's run as Roxie on Broadway was interrupted by the 9/11 terrorist attacks, but show resumed on September 15, 2001. Visitor was then cast as Jean Ritter on the ABC Family series Wildfire, which premiered on June 20, 2005. She appeared as a guest star in the Battlestar Galactica episode "Faith" in 2008.

Visitor had a small role as Pamela Voorhees in the 2009 Friday the 13th reboot. She has also lent her voice in a few guest appearances on the show Family Guy, such as Rita in the episode "Brian's Got a Brand New Bag" and as the voice of the Enterprise in "Extra Large Medium".

Illustration has al ways been one of Jason's greatest passions.He began working in the comic book industry by painting covers for Star Trek and Star Wars in 1990. Since then, he's worked as an illustrator on a vast variety of projects, including art for TV shows, story boards, advertising, concept work, and collectibles. His recent projects include Indiana Jones concept designs for Lucasfilm, and licensed work for Warner Brothers and Universal Studios.
 After becoming a huge fan of the Firefly series, Jason created a print of the show's cast for a local LA convention. Encouraged by Joss Whedon, Jason has since been working together with Universal Studios, producing licensed artwork for Serenity, the movie that was made, in no small part, as a result of unprecedented efforts of Firefly fans. These works include  a line of popular limited edition Serenity collectible portraits, which are now available as an album set, including exclusive character sketches and convention slipcase tote carrier and more recently, a line of Serenity T-shirts which premiered at Sandiego Comicon last year.
 He continues to work on a variety of projects - everything from Star Trek comic books, to prop art for various TV shows, licensed artwork for Warner Bros., Universal Studios and Lucasfilm properties, story boards, ad designs, and more.

This will be Jason's second trip out to Australia, with his first being for Hub's Serenity convention in May 2008 where his worked proved to be a big hit with everyone.


For this visit Jason will be premiering a new line of Stargate works that he has created especially for this event as well as bringing along a great selection of his other pieces.

Jason lives in Huntington Beach, California with his wife Yelena and cats Squeak and Tina.


 


    


Juliet Landau


Juliet Rose Landau is an American actress best known for co-starring as Loretta King Hadler in Tim Burton's Ed Wood and for portraying Drusilla on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and spin off show Angel. She has appeared in a diverse range of roles. She is active in film, television and theater.


Landau was born in Los Angeles to parents Martin Landau and Barbara Bain. She was a professional ballerina. Her mentor was the late actress, Susan Peretz. Juliet is a member of The Actors Studio and is currently being mentored by Mike Medavoy.


She co-starred in Tim Burton's Ed Wood as Loretta King and starred opposite Whoopi Goldberg in New Line Cinema's Theodore Rex. She played the role of Drusilla on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, appearing on Buffy and spin off show Angel over the course of six seasons. Steve Vinberg of The New York Times hailed "The wildly gifted Juliet Landau plays Drusilla like an acid-addled cross between Ophelia and Cassandra."


Lead roles in Independents include: The Yellow Wallpaper, Darkness Visible, Hack, Toolbox Murders, Repossessed, Carlo's Wake, Life Among the Cannibals, Ravager, Direct Hit, Citizens and a co-starring turn in Henry Jaglom's Going Shopping.


TV guest appearances include: Millennium, La Femme Nikita, Strong Medicine and a starring role in the Lifetime movie Fatal Reunion. She just completed a project for HBO directed by Jake Scott. She used her skill with dialects by lending her voice to various characters on the popular animated series' Justice League Unlimited and Ben 10 as well as The Green Lantern film and the Bioshock game.


Landau has received outstanding reviews for her work in the theater. Lead roles include Awake and Sing at The Pittsburgh Public Theater, the world premiere of Failure of Nerve, Uncommon Women and Others, The Pushcart Peddlers, Billy Irish, We're Talking Today Here, the musical How To Steal An Election, the West Coast premiere of Irish Coffee and the world premiere of Murray Shisgal's musical The Songs Of War. She played Natasha in a reading of The Three Sisters that Al Pacino put together at The Actors Studio.


Her first work as director was Take Flight, a short documentary film about Gary Oldman. It is about Oldman's creative process. He has said, "Juliet Landau is an exceptional talent! I entrusted Juliet to make a documentary film about me and I am thrilled with the results! Take Flight is a special film that shows me in a very different light. I will work with Juliet again without hesitation." She has written the short film, It's Raining Cats and Cats and adapted Andrew Prine's play Cissy into a short as well. She will helm these projects. She potrayed Claire in the British horror film Haunted Echoes, who was directed by Harry Bromley Davenport.


In 2009 Juliet Landau co-wrote two issues of the Angel comic book series for IDW Publishing, in collaboration with Brian Lynch. The issues (#24 and #25 of the series, appeared in August and September 2009) feature Drusilla, the character she played on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. In addition to writing, she contributed numerous ideas and references for both the cover and interior art of the issues. She has stated that she would like to write more comics set in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer universe.
